In the process, the author demonstrates the union of spiritual soul and inanimate matter necessary to form a human body beginning with its first cell. This is followed by a thorough examination of sensation, perception, memory, imagination, consciousness and thinking in search of what it is that makes human beings unique, in order to understand why it is that, among all animals, only man and woman are said to be made in God's image.
